Is it possible to only install the Writer & Calc modules - I don’t need the others.
Thank you
The LibreOffice IS a real Integrated Office Suite.
See the Task manager: When you use the Writer, or Draw, or Calc application, always will run the same soffice.bin, but with different options and settings.
Hello,
in fact “no”, since LibreOffice is kind of a monolithic application, where all modules share most of the code.Linux distributions allow to not install some modules, but the gain of additional free disk space is minimal. E.g. my LibreOffice 7.0 Impress Module package on Linux has an installed size of 2.8 MB, while the core
package has an installed size of 284,2 MB. Hence you’d safe only 1%, if not installing Impress (and there is, to the best of my knowledge, no such option on Windows and macOS)
Hope that helps.
That’s a pity - how did you mange only284mb??? My win8.1 64 bit shows 577mb???
Thanks for the reply
how did you mange only284mb?
This was just an sample of my “core” package. Linux installations and software packages are quite different from Windows’ ones and - overall - my installation is about 745 MB.
