Is text alignment like 'Center across selection (of MS Excel)' available in LO Calc?

It is very useful for dragging mouse or down arrow key in order to cover cells vertically in creating formula.

When you refer to a function in a different application, please always provide a link to that application’s function reference, so that other could get an idea (or reproduce if they have access to that software) what you mean, even not being familiar to the function.

You can centre text by Ctrl + E, or used the button on the toolbar

Yep, but what “across the selection” means? Does it involve several cells? Vertically, horizontally, or rectangular area? See @mikekaganski’s comment.

The function works like this :

It works nearly the same as in M$ XL, though commands are not located in the same places.

  • Enter your title in the leftmost cell
  • Extend the selection to the right for the required number of columns
  • Format>Merge cells>Merge cells & center

Hmm, the “Merge and center” it the thing with which the “Center across selection” is directly compared in the video, and its differences and advantages are discussed…

I saw that, but I chose to leave OP decide which way to go

Thank you, it is very important for the accountant to create the report as well.

Looking forward to seeing in the next version

What made you think it would be in the next version? no developer was interested in this AFAIK.
