Is there a way to convert automatic endnotes to manual ones

I write for a publication which requires references as endnotes, however they have asked me to create these manually, rather than using LibreOffice’s in built endnote feature, as this causes problems with their production process.
I’m wondering if there’s any quick way to convert automatic endnotes into manual ones, i.e. into superscript characters with no additional formatting or hyperlinks?
Many thanks in advance!

When creating a note, you have the option of manually numbering (or any other label) it if you insert the note with Insert>Footnote & Endnote>Footnote or Endnote. If you created them with the more straightforward Insert>Footnote & Endnote>Endnote, they are automatically numbered and there is no procedural way to turn the auto-number into a numerical string. I would copy note contents, delete the note and recreate it as mentioned above then paste copied contents.
There may be a way with macros but I have never written one, so don’t know.

Thanks, yes due to the number of references I’m looking for a quick way to do it rather than copying and pasting each one, if possible!

FWIW, I played with exporting a file with end notes to PDF and copy & paste the end notes in the PDF back to the document, with mixed results. In the best case, the end notes appeared together with their numbers in a single paragraph, separated by a space. In the worst case, the note numbers sat on their own lines in one block, with the text of the notes in a block following that. You will in any case have to replace the end note anchors by superscript numbering, but that might take less time than figuring out how to write and debug a macro that does the work.
