Is there a way to manually edit footer on only one page without this change affecting the other pages using the same footer?
You can do this by adding a Manual Break
and select another page style (maybe you need to create a new one before…)
Sources:
Header and footer are properties of a page style, therefore they appear the same on all pages formatted by this style.
As a consequence you must use as many page styles as you have page “categories” or “models”.
Making a page style active is a matter of inserting special manual page breaks or defining the text flow property of paragraph styles.
This seems a lot of trouble (the first time you meet it, but it is quite simple when you understand the underlying principles), so there are complimentary shortcuts for common cases.
- Cover page following by “standard” pages
Assign built-in style First Page to you cover. Style switches automatically to Default Page Style after the first page break, implicit or explict (manual). - First page of a sequence, e.g. first page of a chapter
In the running page style definition,Header
orFooter
tab, uncheck the Same content on first page box
WARNING! This is valid for the first page only. If you have several chapter following each other, you must add a “special” page break before chapter start to jump to the designated page style, thus restarting the sequence. This special page break can be encoded inText Flow
tab of the paragraph style for the first paragraph in the chapter (usually Heading 1).
If you are not familiar with styles, read the corresponding chapters in the Writer Guide.
