Is there a way to paste table rows with multiple different colorings?

When I paste rows with different formatting, they all copy the row that the cursor is in when I paste them rather than keeping the format they had when I hit ctrl c.
You can see in the picture how the pasted rows all just copied the one above the paste. Is there a way to prevent this? I want lots of different color formats in my table.
This problem caused me to try Google Docs and OpenOffice, which copied and pasted table rows fine, but had other problems. Is there a way to paste table rows with multiple colorations in libreoffice?

Edit:
OK, I have a hard time believing it matters, but I have Win 11, version 25.2.3.2, and here’s a file.

If you expect helpful answers, edit your question to mention OS name, exact LO version (not “latest”) and save format. Since the procedure is highly dependent on existing formatting, attach a sample file for analysis.

Can that help?

Creating a table in Writer

You can create a table style as you want, Autoformat writer change the template Simple grid Rows - #4 by EarnestAl, but there are drawbacks, see other comments in the question.

Using the sample below with Table Style Colourful, you can apply the table style to a new table by clicking in the new table then double-clicking Table Style Colourful in the styles pane of the sidebar.

I don’t think you can do it for your sample. The first and last column or row can be defined separately. The in between columns and rows alternate so 4 colours maximum. The merged cells don’t fit into that

Your sample makes my computer incredibly slow. Your table cells are direct-formatted. Since your cells seem to have dedicated contents (apparently 5 different ones), have you tried to create and apply custom paragraph styles?

It won’t solve the case of the merged cells but will surely improve reactivity. In addition, it’ll be simpler for you since formatting is contained in the paragraph style.

Don’t use spaces to align your column headings. You should rather create merged cells corresponding to the coloured column groups and use tab stops in specific heading paragraph styles. This is more reliable and easier to tune.

I just started using styles and other more modern formatting stuff when I was trying to learn Google docs and Openoffice well enough to see if they could be a one-stop solution. I guess I’ll try Onlyoffice and Freeoffice and if those both have some fatal flaw, I’ll be back to Libre and give it the same studying spree I’ve been giving the others.
