Is there a way to prevent the view from jumping around?

There are times when my view suddenly moves. For example, I have been using the format painter to add the emphasis character style to words, and my document uses a LOT of bolded words. Seems to particularly happen while I am near the bottom of a page.

I remember there are other situations where it suddenly moves your view; don’t remember exactly what they are. Possibly when selecting or moving frames.

What I want is a way to keep it from moving my view EVER. I want it to only move when I move it via the scrollbars, scrolling, find page, etc.

Changing character attributes will in many cases change the width and/or height of the respective part of the text. Mainly in cases where a longer part of a line/paragraph gets a new setting, this may cause re-wrapping lines and even pages. I wouldn’t describe it as “jumping around”.
However, if this is what causes the effects you dislike, I can’t see remedy.
