Keep ratio always active in draw

Windows Draw Version 25.2.1.2. If I open a file for Draw. Draw a rectangle. Grab the side handle and drag it. The aspect ratio is maintained as if I dragged a corner. “Keep ratio” is not set. I would like this not to happen. Is there some setting I’m missing?

The normal dragging changes the ratio for me in my Draw 25.2.1 portable version.
To prevent the Ratio changing, use the Shift-Drag feature.

I marked this as a solution because it gives me a workaround. In the “Position and Size” settings there’s a little checkbox to “keep the aspect ratio” fixed but this appears to have no purpose since the aspect ratio is maintained regardless of this setting unless the shift key is used.

I thought a while back I stumbled on a setting somewhere that would allow dragging an edge without changing both dimensions but I can’t find it anymore. The biggest problem with changing both dimensions at the same time is it often moves the item off the grid.

The “keep the aspect ratio” checkbox is for the numeric size setting only.

I don’ know what that means. What is the numeric size? If I have an 8 units by 8 units rectangle and I drag it the final result will be x units by x units maintaining the 1 to 1 ratio. And that box being checked or not checked has no effect. When does it have an effect?

Right click on the object - Position and Size menu. A panel will be appeared.
You can set the size values (the properties Height, Width) of the graphical object numerically on this panel. It is enough to set one of them: not needed to set the ANOTHER property when the option “keep the aspect ratio” is checked, because it will be calculated automatically. But it works in that panel only. It will not work with the mouse dragging after you close that panel.

Got it. Thanks.
