Keyboard shortcut for "insert date" does something else

The keyboard shortcut “CTRL”+";" should insert a date into the cell, but instead it writes the letter “e” with an underscore.

I tried replacing the keyboard shortcut to be something else, like “CTRL”+".", but it functions the same thing, meaning it writes the letter “e” with an underscore.

I will emphasize that the keyboard shortcut for inserting time (i.e. “CTRL”+“SHIFT”+";") works well.

Using Liberoffice Calc v7.3.5.2.

What should I do to solve it?

Thank you.

On macOS, where I have a vanilla install of LibreOffice, the shortcut is ⌘; Control; inserts a ; which is perhaps a little odd.

You can adjust the shortcuts at any time.
Tools → Customize → Keyboard

I changed it like this:

@PKG:

I tried replacing the keyboard shortcut, but it didn’t work (same issue persist).

You didn’t say, but I’d bet this is on some Ubuntu. In their endless wisdom they assigned the emoji picker input switch to Ctrl+; which usually is on Ctrl+. (and hence reassigning to that also may not work for you). We can do nothing but congratulate them. Apart from that, you can try to assign the emoji annotation to a different shortcut using the ibus-setup command, tab Emoji, for example <Control>period .
