Using ctrl C was able to copy contents of spreadsheet, but could not paste to another spreadsheet, or even within the same excel file
Maybe the another file is write protected…

Thank you. I discovered I could not click on upper left cell to copy and paste; instead I have to copy each row/column
by moving the cursor down the file; then when I click on cell A1 in destination, it copies, but not if I use the upper most
cell which highlights the entire spreadsheet.

Thanks for getting back to me. I was not clear about the exact problem.
There is a cell in the upper most left corner of a spreadsheet. I normally
click on this and it copies the whole spreadsheet. I then go to another spreadsheet
in another file, click on the uppermost cell and try to paste. The paste option is not
available to me. Instead I have to click in the first cell (A1) and them it paste the data.
I suppose this is workable.

It was the old computer. I transferred the HDD to another computer and the browser and all spreadsheets work fine.
