This morning, I attempted to open several password protected files. NONE of them opened and I received the error above. After checking several documents online, I saw that this could be a version issue and attempted the two versions above that work earlier in the week BEFORE the new year.
All the files were created with Calc (ods extensions).
Tries opening in safe mode to no avail.
Any help would be appreciated
- Check the state of the Caps Lock, Num Lock keys when you typing the password.
- Try the password protection with a new file (what is created in the new year).

Zizi, thanks for getting back to me! I did find the solution.
After trying all of the “basic” stuff, checking the numlock and CAPS keys, getting the backup that I saved, using a different PC, downloading other office products, etc. I realized that I was using the wrong password. I blame it on old age. My trouble shooting skills are great, my memory, not so much!
