Our production PC running Windows 10 was, yesterday, opening ODS documents in LibreOffice by simply double clicking the icon in File Explorer. The files live on a Samba share on our NAS.
This morning I tried three different ways to open files with the following results:
- Double click the file’s icon in file explorer, or right click and select “Open” or “Open With…” and then LibreOffic Calc.
The “in progress” icon shows briefly. Libre Office Calc doesn’t start. Nothing else happens.
- Run Libre Office Calc manually then drag and drop the icon from File Explorer.
Calc shows an error, something about “Cannot open object due to insufficient rights”.
- Run Libre Office Calc manually then use File->Open, browse to the file and select it.
The file opens correctly as expected.
Similar behaviour as in method 1 was seen for a .docx file which should open in Libre Office Writer.
LibreOffice is version 7.2.0.4.
