Hi,
I’m not so good at english (i’m italian) so have patience with my grammar, please.
I’m here because when I try to change page format and paragraph settings libre office stops working.
I reinstalled the program (twice) but the error repeats.
I don’t know what to do. Someone can help me?
Help requires more information. First the basics: OS name, LO version and save format (DOCX or .odt, …?). Next give more details on your document and the procedure you follow. For best diagnostic, attach a sample file.
Explain which changes you want to make: page size, margins, orientation, … What is the influence of these changes on your paragraphs?
In order to answer theses questions, please re-open yours: click on … (or +) under the question, then on the “pencil” icon. You’re now in edit mode.
File odt.
Libre office 24.2.4.
I want do a page A5, 2cm margins, vertical.
I can’t change nothing, because when i click on the menu format- click on paragraph or stile pagina (style page) L.O. stop working. The program crashes. And after 10 minutes nothing changes. I have to forcefully close L.O.
I use windows10.
Is it ok?
Attach your document so that I can test it against my configuration. Which OS?
Did you try “safe mode”? Often overlooked: reinstalling keeps your profile. So if the blocking error is caused by the profile, nothing changed. If it works in safe-mode you can rename the current profile-folder, so LO will create a fresh one.
Same problem. Safe mode doesn’t work, unfortunately.
No problem here to change page style configuration: 7.6.7.2 and 24.2.4 under Fedora 40 (Linux), KDE Plasma desktop. Check your OS installation and configuration.
I don’t understand what i have to check, sorry.
Os 64 bit? Ed windows 10 home version 22H2?
I am not familiar with W10 subtleties. So, I can’t help there. The fact that your sample file has no problem on my computer shows the issue is not in the document. Logically, it must be something with your configuration. You told safe mode did not solve. I suggest however you create a new account (so that the corresponding user profile is known to be clean) and make a try under this new account (without importing your existing document; start from a fresh one).
If you pass the test, your existing user profile is corrupted in a non-trivial way. If the test fails, the problem is in W10 configuration (perhaps filesystem corruption if configuration looks good).
