Hi everyone, I am having issues utilizing libreoffice, specifically the writer, when ever I click on anything in the topmost bar it instantly crashes, this only happens on this application
I am able to open options with f12 and have followed previous advice of changing hardware acceleration and skia but nothing has worked yet, I’ve attached and image of what I click that makes it crash.
Should I just un-install and reinstall?
Thank you
It might be that your user profile is corrupted, try with a temporary profile or in LibreOffice safe mode, see LibreOffice user profile - The Document Foundation Wiki
Make sure to back up your profile before making any changes. I prefer the manual method of closing LibreOffice and renaming the the user folder to user2025-04-28 but there are other methods listed in the linked page
Hello Earnest thank you for the recommendation
Since this was a fresh install I didn’t mind simply resetting it
I started libreoffice in safe mode but the issue was still present
afterwards I proceeded to reset it and the issue still persisted
- What operating system and version are you using?
- What version of LibreOffice?
- Are your graphics drivers up to date?

What steps did you do?
Hello Earnest thank you again for answering
After fidgeting a bit I was able to pin point it to my antivirus (Malwarebytes)
For some reason it is detecting it as Exploit.PayloadProcessBlock from simply initiating that click on the toolbar and only on writer
I will open a ticket with them to see why it is being grabbed in that way
Thank you for the help
