Libre Writer printing invisible text?

ASAT 20/08/2025 my last Zorin 16 update my Libre Office Writer documents are printing invisible text. Printer is OK with other non writer documents?

LibreOffice version? Source of LibreOffice (Download vs. OS package)?
Share a document which contains the problem, please.

What does that mean? You try to print text, but it is invisible on paper? Or you made some text invisible in the document, but printing the document makes the invisible text visible on paper?

In the LibreOffice print dialogue, in the LibreOffice tab, do you have Print text in black selected?

Trying to print old and new documents from my Zorin computer. The printer operates normally but text is invisible. Other documents from emails and Chrome print fine. Seems to have happened since last Zorin 17.6 update.
Have checked my Libre personal profile it appears to be uncorrupted. I think it’s something to do with fonts.
I am not a Linux deep diver, just trying to find ways round it without chaining myself to the PC. PDF files print OK so will go via Google docs for new documents.
The printer is an old Epson Stylus Photo P50 and Epson issued a new driver recently this July, so suspicious??
Thanks for responding.

How did you check this?

And what happens, if you export your file to pdf?
Can you share a file and the resulting pdf here?
.
Other question: Do you use dark mode? (Maybe “printing” white on white then…)
.

Thanks for the reply

The exported PDF file from Libre Writer still does not print text. But other files downloaded from Yahoo mail and Chrome browser pages print as expected with current printer settings.

The other thing that I’am suffering from today is Yahoo Mail’s response times, navigating and even typing this email is very sticky not normal. Could be a internet issue but my PC is on a wired connection and using my phone on WiFi is processing as expected . Is it Yahoo’s Ads processing?

See attached PDF file
I don’t use dark mode
I found some tests on the web using the Libre and and Zorin forums, which were a bit involved using the terminal, but I can’t really recover them.

Printer Test.pdf (19.1 KB)

I could print-out your Printer Test.pdf (on CUPS-PDF) and the text read 6 âś• Testing and 1 âś• testing.

A mystery then,

or a corrupted system somewhere?

So the document as it is is OK

My printer prints but not from my Linux system. Down loads from Yahoo Mail and Chrome are OK but past documents znd new documents do not.
The last thing I printed before the Zorin update was a Libre spread sheet?
Too many variables so what course of action would you suggest?
