Librecalc sort problem

I cannot sort correctly a spreadsheet with librecalc: even cells to sort are date cells, and even the date format is set to GG/MM/AAAA, when I try to sort my items they are ordered as they were standard numbers.
I mean
01/01/2024 is before 01/02/1900

i.g.

01/02/2000
01/02/2011
01/03/1954
01/03/1965
01/03/1969

What should I do to fix this?

Your dates sort alphabetically correct because you imported them wrongly as text.
Do not ignore the import options when importing text files or clipboard data.
You are the one and only person able to tell if 1/2/2000 refers to the first of February or 2nd of January.

How to remove single quote in front of numbers in a cell

In order to avoid this problem, you simply have to check “Detect special numbers” in the text import dialog (this takes care of currencies, dates, times, percents). and you have to choose the right import langauge as US-English, UK-English or whatever describes the incoming data best. If currencies look like 1.234,98€ and dates are written like 31.12.2021 “German (Germany)” would be the right import locale.
