LibreOffice 26.2 Checkin update fails

Checkin update fails

Nice!
And what is your question to fellow users on this Ask site?

I’m seeing this also.

I installed LibreOffice 26.2 yesterday. Right after the install I opened LibreOffice and clicked on the “Help → Check for Updates” menu item. After a few seconds the dialog says “Checking for an update failed” with the following error in the dialog’s Description section:

Error reading data from the Internet.
Server error message:
GET
=>
HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden.

I have tried this with and without my VPN enabled. I just tried this again today.

Any other ideas on how to get the update working?

Ok, now we have 2 users “reporting the same”. So I guess this is a severe issue. Let’s guess they both use the same OS and both have very good reasons not to tell the name of their OS (Voldemort OS ?!)
.
We could start tto ask where update checks work and then check the missing OS…
.
Or we wait for a brave user stepping forward to give more informations… (Installed anti-virus software could also be useful.)

I am using Windows 11 25H2, Windows Defender, Asus Router, Adguard Private DNS (no block showed during update try). Started with LibreOffice 26.2.0.0, manually downloaded & upgraded to 26.2.0.3. Same problem both versions. Could this be a rejection like CloudFlare?

I’m also experiencing this on Windows 10 Pro 22H2.
I was using an old version of Libre Office before updating to 26.2 yesterday.
Apologies, I can’t remember what version it was but it was working fine before.
