LibreOffice 7 - Slow to open!

After a few years with OpenOffice I switched to LibreOffice one year ago and was very happy. But when I installed LO v7 some days ago, bad surprise, it is very slow to open files. It takes a few seconds to display the logo, on the 6 release it was much faster.
Any suggestion to make it faster? Thank you!

LO 64 bits on a Win-10 Enterprise, Rizen 7 2700X with 16GB Ram

For me, no difference. On i5 with 6Gb Ram it takes just under 10 seconds for first launch of LO 7.0.0.3, just under 5 seconds for subsequent launches. On i7 with 8Gb Ram and LO 6.4.4.2 the results are the same.

Did you have load on boot ticked in previous install? Huge number of fonts? Maybe Windows is still loading when you start LO? I spend way more time procrastinating than waiting for LO to load.

Thank you for replying! I did not change anything in my config from LO 6 (last release) to LO 7. It did not and does not load on Windows boot. I don’t launch LO until win is fully loaded. I have 365 fonts, the same amount than with LO6 of course. And Win10 and programs (including LO) are installed on a SSD.
The “slow” opening is about 5 seconds to get the LO logo. With LO 6 it was one second or less. Will probably downgrade to 6 and see if the difference is still there.

My times were from clicking on Writer shortcut to time blank page was ready. I don’t think the load time to logo means anythng. If you mean to load the LO start centre then that might vary with recent documents as it creates thumbnails. A very large recent file might cause slowness, it certainly does in File Explorer.

I turned on protected folder access in Windows Defender (Allowing LO access) and subsequent launches extend to seven seconds.

Given that Windows updates are coming thick and fast there are all sorts of other variables in the mix.

Try this one of the user vbakke:

"In LibreOffice, go to:

** Tools*
** Options*
** Load/Save*
** General*
Then: Remove the tick from the “Load printer settings with the document” checkbox.

It worked for me.

IT is working fine . Thanks you.
