is it possible to create navigation tabs for subforms? that is, can I place a series of subforms inside the main form and then display each of them one at a time pressing a button or navigation page? something on the line with the linked figure.

A form document is just an ordinary Writer document. It can have page breaks, frames and bookmarks. Bookmarks are accessible through hyperlinks and hyperlink buttons. I’m not familiar with Writer but I remember a form with navigation hyperlinks in the page header analog to some web pages.

Tabs are nothing more than buttons attached to macros to hide/reveal items.
