LibreOffice Calc - Paste Unformatted Text by double-clicking in a cell

Hi, I recently updated LibreOffice Calc 24.2.5.2 (from 7.6.7.2) and I noticed something that I am not sure if it is an intended behavior or a bug.
Previously, if I copied a text (ex. from a browser) and clicked on a cell in LO Calc, Ctrl+V would paste the text preserving the formatting from the source (or ask me what to do with a pop-up window), however, if I double-clicked on the cell, it would go into Edit mode, and now Ctrl+V would paste the text unformatted.
In the newer 24.2.5.2 version, in both cases, the text will be pasted with the original formatting (using only one click opens the Import Options pop-up window as previously). If I want to paste the text unformatted, I have to right-click on the cell->Paste SpecialUnformatted Text.
Is this a bug or is there a setting that could get the previous behavior back? It was quite convenient to double-click on a cell, and then use Ctrl+V to paste the text unformatted.

If it helps, I am running Ubuntu 20.04 with Gnome, and installed LibreOffice using the .deb packages.
I also tested 24.2.0.1, where the problem is not present yet. (I did not test other minor versions between 24.2.0.1 and 24.2.5.2, so I do not know exactly which version changed the behavior).

Ctrl+M removes all hard formatting from an arbitrary selection of cells.

Thank you for the suggestion, however, it requires additional steps. The double-click way was very convenient and fast. I am curious if this is an intended modification or not. And if it is an intended modification, is it possible to revert back with a setting?

I can confirm the difference after testing with 7.6.7.2 and 24.2.5.2 on Windows.

As a workaround: Click and Ctrl+Alt+Shift+V.

I have a little bit of time to think about this issue.
The issue was introduced between 24.2.0.3 and 24.2.1.1.
However, reading through the release notes was quite overwhelming, and could not find the cause.

LeroyG’s suggestion was helpful in one sense: In Tools → Customize… → Keyboard, I can change the Shift+Ctrl+Alt+‘V’ shortcut to Ctrl+‘V’ shortcut for the Paste Unformatted Text command. In this way, single-click on the cell then Ctrl+‘V’ would paste the unformatted text, while double-click (or single-click+F2) and then Ctrl+‘V’ would paste the formatted text.

Although, this might be a decent solution (will see if I can get used to it - maybe even simpler than the original behavior), I might file a bug about this. I would only close this thread as resolved if the original behavior is restated, or a developer says, that the new behavor is intended.

Don’t forget to share the bug number here. Thanks.

According to the bug report, the change was intentional (see also this bug report.
Since I am content with the workaround of changing the shortcut key Ctrl+V for the Paste Unformatted Text command, I am closing this issue.
I anyone else misses the original behavior, I suppose the thread can be reopened.
