I like to use dark theme on my system, but I don’t like dark theme for certain apps – like writer, calc, notepad, yada yada.
Apparently, LibreOffice picked up on the “dark theme” for my spreadsheet and writer. Without changing the themes I use for “base”, how do I change the libreoffice calc and writer back to “white paper, black text” mode?

It might be an Appearance setting but given the fragility of the Appearance settings in 25.2.0 ( see New Writer loads in Dark Mode - #3 by vsfoote ) I suggest trying the Office 2003 Blue theme.
Click Tools > Options > LibreOffice > Appearance, click the add more themes icon, select a custom theme and allow LibreOffice to restart.
