you need to explain more about what your expectation are. As your question currently stands it means absolutely nothing.
And you will get 4, because the number value for this date is 40144.

From the screenshot it looks more like a wrongly imported text date because it is left aligned. Spreadsheet users hate spreadsheets. They feel so much more familiar with text.
Hit Ctrl+F8 (View>Highlight Values).
If the formula turns green, it is a formula indeed and you have to turn off Tools>Options>Calc>View:“Show Formulas”
If the formula remains in black font, the cell is pre-formatted as text, therefore the formula is interpreted as literal text. Remove number format “Text” and re-enter the formula.
