LibreOffice Draw: Is it possible to center multiline text inside the textbox both horizontally and vertically?

I would like for the textbox to look like this, text is centered vertically and horizontally:

But, it seems i can control alignment only of vertical axis. Is this a bug or my lack of knowledge? Could anyone provide “how to”? I want text to be all centered when resizing the textbox.

I am limited to left aligned text only, with various paragraph or textbox settings:

Double-click the text in the text box. In case the toolbar “Text formatting” does not open automatically, enable it in View > Toolbars > Text Fromatting.

This toolbar has the icons “Align Center” for the horizontal text alignment and the icon “Center Vertically” for the vertical text alignment.

The part “Text Anchor” is something very different and complex. Find more about it on Documentation/Text in Custom Shapes - The Document Foundation Wiki. The page is addressed to developers, but you might get some hints from the illustrations.

This indeed works. It was a special (buggy?) file I was editing in OP, no alignment was working for existing textboxes, but working like a charm for new ones

Found a workaround:
You need to add an rectangle drawing element and add text to it by double click (instead adding a txtbox). Text inside rectangle will follow alignment options in both H and V directions. Textbox does not follow alignment settings, probably this is a bug.

Why you not use the Styles (Graphic Style in this case) instead of the direct (manual) formatting?

When you use a Style,then you can adjust all of the object properties in one place, and then you will able “repeat it” (“Copy the properties”) by applying the Style to another objects.
