LibreOffice Draw unusable with CompactPDF

This is my first post so please allow me to thank all of you for the great effort and the amazing product suite!

I have a problem opening scanned documents in CompactPDF format. When opened in Draw they appear completely unreadable. You can see the attached examples, representing single sheet scanned with Samsung Easy Document creator and saved with CompactPDF switched on or off. Then you can see the same images opened and exported with LibreOffice Draw.

CompactPDF dramatically lowers the file size - very convenient for archival purposes, etc.

Is there any setting I should alter?

If the document is scanned then it is just an image. If the pdf uses an image compression algorithm not supported by Draw then you can request an enhancement
