e up to date 25xxx. I’m unable to update the Libreoffice version on the Lenovo. Tried updating / upgrading. I’ve tried purging it and reinstalling it from the Synaptic package manager. Also tried installing it from the Deb file directly from the Libreoffice site.

the 7.4.xxx version functions but can’t run dark themes properly and is hard on the eyes.

Welcome any pointers for getting the updated version. Thanks.

How did you install? Using package manager? If so, those might be outdated versions.

You can download the latest versions from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download-libreoffice/; uninstall the package manager version first.

As you seem to use an OS with a LTS-kernel from end of 2022, you may perhaps not using a current version of your MX-linux. I don’t know their system of updates, but “old versions” often get only the security patches for the kernel.
.
Besides updating your OS flatpack may be an option for you.

PS checked distrowatch, and according to “updated to the latest 6.1.123 kernel.” they still use 6.1 so your Version may be current in 2025 or not…

PS2: Something to try from their wiki

thanks for taking the trouble to reply. I’ll surely look into that.

Thanks. Will do
