LibreOffice shuts down immediately after splash screen

OS: Linux (lubuntu 20.04).
After removing access rights for “other” users in my home directory, LO will display the splash and quit.
Why?
Why would a program run under my user/group rights suddenly refuse to execute?
Which file in my home directory would LibreOffice need to access as “other”?
I’ve never seen this behaviour from other applications.
Please enlighten me, Thanks.

Just an idea, as I’m not using *buntu at this moment. LibreOffice is not a regular installed program, but runs from a snap in Ubuntu. Rights to access the system are restricted.
.

Usually “your” user-profile is a hidden folder in your $HOME

LibreOffice IS a regular installed progrm in *ubuntu and is not a snap.
It’s always worked until I removed user “other” access to my $HOME directory tree.
I don’t see why this would prevent LO from starting.
