LibreOffice supposedly freeze: the file chooser window hides the enter password window

In summary, the file chooser window hides the enter password window, even though the enter password window was called after the file chooser window. Making LibreOffice to supposedly freeze.

To reproduce:

  1. Start with the main LibreOffice window, the one with the icons of the last recently opened files. Make this window a full size window, so that it will occupy all of the screen area.
  2. To open a file, type ctrl+o, or use the mouse, to bring up the file chooser window.

At this point I assume the file chooser window size is smaller than the main LibreOffice window size. There fore, the file chooser window hides some, but not all, of the main LibreOffice window. In particular, some of the recently opened file icons are still seen under the file chooser window.

  1. Click with the mouse on one of the recently opened files icons that are still seen in the main LibreOffice window. It is assumed this file is password protected. As if you are in a hurry, trying to open 2 files in parallel. Or just nervous, or confused, or realize the desired file is seen as an iconed file, or something.

At this point, the enter password window is opened. The thing is that for me, the enter password window is below the file chooser window, and is smaller then the file chooser window. Which is why the file chooser window completely hides the enter password window. This makes LibreOffice supposedly frozen. And depending where the mouse pointer is, its figure changes between its usual figure and a continuously rotating small circle. I had to move the file chooser window aside with the mouse in order to be able to enter the password, or cancel the opening of the iconed file. Using the mouse for other window manager commands on the file chooser window didn’t release the supposedly frozen LibreOffice. Only moving the file chooser window aside, to reveal the enter password window, enabled to take some useful actions.

Why did the enter password window came under, rather then on top, of the file chooser window?

Perhaps it is worth pointing out that I am using Xorg with a traditional window manager. No modern desk top environment.
