LibreOffice Vanilla on Microsoft Store

Why has LibreOffice Vanilla recently been removed from the Microsoft Store which I already purchased in the past for $9.99?

Is that an official version of LibreOffice Vanilla from allotropia software GmbH? The previous version was from CIB software GmbH? It’s still a third party company.

Yes, it is official. Allotropia now provides the Windows Vanilla builds for the Microsoft Store. The link is also updated in the LibreOffice download’s App Stores page, but the description text is not.

Before I spend another $9.99 which I already paid for the CIB version before it was removed, I would like to know if it will have the latest build as on the official website and also how often it will be updated? Will the Document Foundation be able to release it directly on the Microsoft Store once Windows 11 is released?

Can you poke me under sales@allotropia.de with proof of your purchase, will then gladly provide you with a voucher for the new version?

We’ve switched providers from CIB to allotropia (I had spun out the opensource development recently - see CIB spins off new allotropia software GmbH – allotropia software blog).

So it’s not removed, but now available from another shop (sadly, there was technically no other way to do that).

Please poke us at sales@allotropia.de for assistance, if you are an existing LibreOffice Vanilla customer.

I already purchased the new allotropia version from the Microsoft Store and it’s version 7.1.5.2, not version 7.2.0.4.

Yeah, I hope we say so clearly on the shop product page. We’ll at some stage offer 7.2 as well, plan is starting with 7.2.2 or 7.2.3

And thanks a lot for supporting LibreOffice development with your purchase!

Taking into account the existing LibreOffice release policy, where two current release branches are active at any time, with the stated goal of having one more tested, and one bleeding edge suitable primarily for technology enthusiasts, it would be unreasonable to expect that paid versions published in the stores be immediately based on just-released newer less tested branch.

And where is the difficulty in recognizing that a topic has been closed for months?

Lol.

Wow, the price has dropped! Twice! Is this a promotion?
