LibreOffice Writer import PDF file

Hi all,

I recently switched from Ubuntu to Fedora and upgraded to LibreOffice 25.2. Before, on my previous system (Ubuntu with LibreOffice 24), I was able to simply drag and drop a PDF file into LibreOffice Writer (*.DOCX file), and it would appear as an image on the page. However, after reinstalling Fedora and upgrading to LibreOffice 25.2, this method no longer works.
When I try to drag and drop a PDF file, nothing happens, and I’m unsure of what I’m missing or what changed.
Has anyone else experienced this? What additional steps or packages do I need to install to restore this functionality?

Thanks in advance!

I am under Fedora 41, KDE Plasma desktop, LO 24.8.6.1 (as per distro current).

When I drag and drop a PDF over a document, Writer asks me to confirm section insertion. If I accept, page size is changed to PDF image size, section is created but nothing shows up!

thanks to fedora forum & [Mike B] @tqcharm - the solution is to use flatpak!

For information: this question was cross-posted on LibreOffice Writer import PDF file - Fedora Discussion.

There, it contains another important bit of information: the target document is DOCX, which may add compatibility issues.

You’re right! I edited the description — the target file is a DOCX.
Anyway, it’s strange because on Ubuntu, I used the repository version of LibreOffice (not Flatpak), and it worked fine. But now, on the RPM version, it doesn’t.
