Using latest LO Writer, it imports images noticeably darker. A search revealed this has been a problem for 10 years but no one knows why.
I import TIFF as its the only format that retains dpi information, for some reason LO can’t do this with PNG. However the darkness issue is with all formats.
I can brighten them with LO’s internal brightness/gamma tool, but its still bizarre that the problem has been around for so long and not fixed?
There is no problem, until it’s reported to the bug tracker. If you have a bug number, please provide it in a tdf#1234 form. Also, the “its the only format that retains dpi information, for some reason LO can’t do this with PNG” needs the same.
I experience the same problem (LibreOffice 25.2.6) but only for some images, not all.
A workaround solution for me was to open the image with image editor GIMP , which will ask you to convert the color profile. Answer YES and save the file. Maybe other image editors can do the same thing, I haven’t tested this.
