LibreOffice Writer keeps crashing

Hello,

I start using LibreOffice Writer since yesterday for the writing of my book on Cybersecurity.
I already experienced many crashes since yesterday, often when I scroll up-down in the document.
I thought that it’s because 7.5.4 is not yet stable, so I downloaded 7.4.7. I still get crashes.
I’m using Master Document to separate chapters in different files.
I’m really at the beginning, with just a table of content, a section with text in the master document, I’m in the process of creating subdocuments for chapters, I’m only on the third subdocument, each subdocument contains only a dozen lines of text. No graphics, no drawings, no tables, really only texts.
I suspect that it’s my computer which has some conflicts with LibreOffice?
I’m using Windows 10 that I just reset so I’m in a pretty new and clean environment, with 8 GB RAM installed and about 3.6 GB available.
In which direction I should go for investigation?

Thanks in advance,

Zi

Try:
First steps

I have no clue at this point why this might be happening.
You could try and run a portable version Of LibreOffice and see what happens.

On my Windows 10 I can run both without issue.

Try updating your graphics card drivers.

If still an issue then click Tools - Options - LibreOffice - View and tick the box Force Skia software rendering

You are the king!
I think you were right on the spot, since I ticked the box “Force Skia software rendering” (I already have the latest graphics card driver so no newer update available), I haven’t had a single crash yet, while I added much more subdocuments and texts than before.
So far so good.
I will report to you later to let you know if it definitively resolved the problem.
Thanks very much!
