LibreOffice Writer Load/Save Microsoft Office options greyed out

Hello,

I just installed Linux Mint Zara 22.2 kernel 6.14, updated everything and I have a question about LibreOffice 24.2.7.2 which comes as a system package with Zara.

When I open “LibreOffice Writer, Tools, Options, Load/Save, Microsoft Office” all the listed “Embedded Objects” options are greyed out and not modifiable (meaning I am not allowed to tick/untick them).

Is this normal or not?

With LibreOffice 7.3.7.2 on Linux Mint Virginia 21.3 Edge kernel 6.8, those Writer options can all be modified.

Because I have:
- no clue if this is an issue or not
- no clue if this is a Linux Mint issue or not: as I wrote the LibreOffice Writer I have is a system package
- no clue if this is a LibreOffice Writer issue or not

Thank you

maybe try Safe Mode

Hi fpy,
thanks for your feedback.

Other people in the Linux Mint Forums (see the link in my first message in this thread) are experiencing similar (some same) situation as mine and they wonder if this is instead the expected behavior of Writer and/or if there is a setting which will unlock the possibility to tick/untick at will the embedded objects like it happens with LO 7.3.7.2 on LM 21.3.

Is there anyone who could tell more?

likely not.

Hi fpy,
thanks again.
Which version of LO do you have and which version of LM?
The LO version you have is it the system package that comes with LM, or another one?

Hi fpy,
not really possible for me to understand more if I don’t know your LO and OS details.
Thx
