I want to compare two PDF documents.
I see that this can be done in LibreOffice Writer (via edit/track changes/compare) but when I try to open the documents in Writer, they open in a new Draw window.
Draw doesn’t have the option to compare…
Does anyone know how to open a PDF with Writer when the default is Draw?
PDFs are seen by LO as a collection of graphics pages. Therefore, they open in Draw. Writer can open only documents formatted as ODF or, in a somewhat limited way, others relatively well-known formats like DOC(X).
PDFs are not text documents. They describe pages containing graphical objects, most of them being text boxes which have no relationships between them (consequently a text flow cannot be automatically rebuild reliably).
To the best of my knowledge, comparing two PDFs is a manual process: open them in parallel windows and scroll.
Thanks ajlittoz, good explanation
Softmakers FlexiPDF has a mode to compare PDF side by side, wich I have not used until now.
