Libreoffice-writer won't print back to back LONG-EDGE flipping

Potentially relevant information:

Computer is Windows11
I’m using Libre Office version 25.8.1.1 (X86_64)

Ctrl-P opens the printer driver, which correctly identifies the printer as Epson XP-900. Layout Tab shows that Portrait, Print on both sides and Flip on long edge correctly selected. Advanced on the same Tab identifies itself as Microsoft IPP Class Driver Advanced Document Setting - it also shows that A4 paper size is correctly selected.
The issue: A 5 page document was printed with pages 2, and 4 printed upside down (ie. as though Flip on short edge had been selected - but it had not).
As a silly check, I next printed again with Print on short edge to see it that would do the opposite of what it stated. Nope, it did print with the pages 2 and 4 upside down.
I’ve been using Libre Office since 25th April 2025, and Open Office for many years before that. I’ve never had this problem before. The only (again silly) variable I can think of is that last week I finally and very reluctantly moved to Windows11 (on a brand new computer), having got on well with Windows10.
Final check: Print with Open Office version 4.1.15 Nope, same problem.
Suggestions greatly appreciated.

It might be, that Windows 11 uses a different printer driver than your previous PC has used. Have you checked that already?

Best to install the printer manufacturer’s own printer driver instead of relying on the generic Windows print driver

Hi Regina, although I listed the printer driver that was current when the issue occurred, (ie. the Microsoft one), no I hadn’t checked whether it was the same or different from the one previously used on my old PC, (nor - at age 81 - had I remembered what the previous driver was!). Comparing settings, programs etc between the old machine and my new one would involve detaching about 8 different cables from the old PC, inserting them in the new PC, then making paper notes, or taking, saving and transferring screenshots, or some other method of recording,. as I only have provision for connecting one computer at a time - somewhat tedious really, - but your point is nevertheless perfectly sensible, and in combination with EarnestAI’s reply here it has duly resulted in a successful solution to my problem, so thank you most sincerely.

Hi EarnestAI, although I hadn’t twigged that the Microsoft driver was merely the supplied generic one, once you had prompted my memory with your reply, I then recalled that I had been using Epson apps on my old PC, so I simply installed the Epson driver as you suggest and all is well, problem solved. Thank you very much indeed.
