Linking a document to cherrytree?

Seeing that I need notes and libreoffice doesn’t have a note-taking/management application, I use cherrytree for my notes.

I’m currently in the process of writing a story, so I need regular access to my notes. Now, I could alt-tab between cherrytree and LO writer, but what I would really appreciate is the ability to view the notes I made within LO writer to the left or right side of the window.

Is something like that possible, perhaps through an extension?

Cherrytree is based on SQLite(1). I guess that all notes are stored in a SQLite database. It is possible to connect a Base document with SQLite and then use it like any other database(2).
