List all spelling issues in Writer

Is there a way (or a plug-in) to list all spelling errors so that I can go through in one panel/page and correct/view all of them? Scrolling through hundreds of pages to try and find them is tedious. Thanks.

If you go to Tools>Spelling, a dialog will open that identifies words Writer thinks are misspelled. You can accept one of the suggestions and correct the single instance or all instances in the document. You may also ignore the one instance or ignore all instances. You can also add a correct word that Writer thinks is wrong to the Dictionary so it does not identify the word as a misspelling in the future. There are even other options in this dialog.

Thanks for the response TXDon. Unfortunately, that has never worked for me - the boxes are empty even though there are clearly misspelled words in the text.

Edit: Wait - I had to open the box, save, and then select the very first word in the document, and THEN hit resume. It’s working for me now - I just had to monkey with it a bit. Thanks again!

You shouldn’t need to select a word. Just go to Tools>Spelling. LibreOffice Writer should begin checking the spelling from the placement of the cursor.

There was an issue with one of the 7.4 LibreOffice releases where the spell check stopped after a short while of spell checking. It is fixed in 7.5.1.2.

You might have had that bug affecting your document.

Ah! That’s it! I didn’t realize we were on 7.5 already. I’ll upgrade today, hopefully that make it work more consistently. Thanks!
