LO 7.1 Calc date and/or time entry

Entering either =TODAY() or =NOW() in cell do not produce any result.

Using CTRL+; produces a date, and Ctrl+Shift+; produces a time.

Nothing at all is displayed? Or you see the formula rather than a date or time? If the latter, check that the cell is not formatted as Text.

I just see the formula. The column cells are all formatted as Date. I know I’m getting old, but it’s got me beat…

Use Ctrl+F8 to see what the cell actually contains: numeric will be blue, text black and formula green.

It may be that you entered the formula as text - afterwards changing the format won’t change the content.

A more unlikely but possible option; do all formulae show the formula rather than the result? If so, see if Display Formulas is selected in the setting for Tools | Options | LibreOffice Calc | View. If you happen to be on a Mac, use LibreOffice | Preferences rather than Tools | Options.

Nice one! Sure 'nuff, I had Display Formulas ticked.

Many thanks.
