I just upgraded to LO 7.5.5.1 and can not turn negative numbers in CALC to red, as they were before the upgrade. I have tried all recommendations as well as reinstalling LO but there is no change. Can someone suggest a fix? Thanks
Do you mean that you enter a user-defined format code like 0.00;[RED]-0.00
or you chose a currency code that shows negative numbers in red and the negative numbers aren’t shown in red?
- Are the numbers shown in blue? Toggle View > Value Highlighting (Ctrl+F8)
- Are the numbers Text rather than numbers (shown in black when View > Value Highlighting is highlit)? See How to convert number text to numeric data
Can you provide the format code of the applied cell style?
Can you upload your ODF type sample file here?
Thanks for your prompt reply.
No the numbers are not in blue and they are not Text.
As I indicated they negative numbers were shown in Red before updating to LO 7.4.5.1 and after the update everything tuned to Black. Hi-lighting the column I tried Format Cells, making sure that the Negative Numbers red box was checked and the Format Code box indicates that. But the negative numbers are still shown in black.
Thanks for your reply.
The Format Code is as follows:
$#,##0.00;[RED]"-$"#,##0.00
I couldn’t send the whole file but I copied and pasted some of the numbers into a new file.
Sample 1.ods (11.0 KB)
The red appears in my LO 7.5.0.3. I think it is an accessibility setting:
- Click Tools > Options > LibreOffice > Accessibility and under Options for High Contrast Appearance check if Use automatic font for screen display is ticked. If it is, then untick it and OK, then scroll in Calc one full screen one way and back to redraw the screen.
- If you have Windows 10 or 11 and the icons are in greyscale too then click Start menu > Settings > Accessibility > Colour Filters and turn off Colour Filters or switch from Greyscale to another filter.
Thank you. That solved the issue.
Thanks for all your help.
