LO copy&paste bug - copied content is pasted as image

I’m using LO 24.2.7.2 and KDE Plasma 6.2.5.

I have been battling with this issue for a while. I have noticed it in Impress and Calc but it may also be an issue elsewhere.

When I copy and paste something (some cells in Calc, or a text box or a shape in Impress) using Ctrl+C - Ctrl+V, it is pasted as an image.

I’m in Impress right now, copied an arrow: right clicking only gives one option (paste), there is no paste special option. Shift+insert produces the same result as right click + paste and Ctrl+V.

Restarting my computer is the only thing that fixes the problem, but it quickly resurfaces during the most inconvenient times. I can’t keep restarting my computer.

I’ve done some searching on the web, there are a few references to similar bugs from 2014 and 2021, saying paste is pasting copied content as “bitmap” images (I don’t know what that is), and in those instances there is often a reference to the “clipboard manager.” I’m using Plasma’s native clipboard manager and I’ve messed around with its configuration a bunch, trying different things, but that has no effect on this bug.
Edit: I say I’m using “Plasma’s native clipboard manager” - by that I mean i never installed a “clipboard manager,” I’m using what Plasma gives me by default. Is that a “clipboard manager” ? Klipper - KDE UserBase Wiki

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If the clipboard manager doesn’t support odf format then no amount of configuration will get it to work properly except turning it off.

… and less related, just showing how they made quite disrupting change in Plasma 6 - breaking copy-paste between other apps, too:

Hi, thanks for that feedback.

If the clipboard manager doesn’t support odf format

But it works fine for a time, and I remember I time when it always worked fine. So something else is broken, I don’t think the plasma clipboard not supporting odf is the issue.

Hi, thanks for these links.

So it is not a kde plasma problem.

Its a LO problem? Or clipboard managers across many different distros are all causing the same problem?

indicates that this is also an issue in Windows, if that helps.
