LO crashed but didn't bring back the file I was working on!

LibreOffice crashed before I managed to save the file I was working on. When I opened LO again it asked if I want it to return the files. I checked the unnamed one on the list and it retrieved it - but it was just a blank page. I have been using OpenOffice until now and it never ever did that but always retrieved the unnamed files perfectly. Is there any way of finding my work in some temp or backup place? I have Windows 11. Thank you!

Did you have Save Autorecovery information every … minutes ticked in Tools > Options > Load/Save > General?

You could look in Tools > Options > LibreOffice > Paths to find the path to temporary files, typically C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp. Look in that folder for a folder of the same date as the lost file, named something like lu123456abc.tmp, that is beginning with lu. Look inside the folder and copy the largest file from there to Documents. From Writer click File > Open, navigate to the copied file and open it, if it opens well and good, otherwise it might be gone.
