LO freezes and crashes in normal mode, runs in Safe Mode, user profile renamed

Apologies but not technically minded (and old). Running 7.3.6.2 on Windows 10 on 3 HP laptops all intel i7 but different editions. On only one new 16" LO freezes and crashes. It does so in Calc and Writer. In Safe Mode it seems to be fine. I have renamed and deleted the User profile, unchecked Skia, reinstalled LO many times, clean booted WIn 10 and even replaced the motherboard. I’ve been at this for 2 weeks and am stumped. Grateful for any help.

Replacing the motherboard sounds like other problems were occurring.

Have you tested the memory? Get a rescue disc and run Memtest, it will take several hours so overnight might be best

Thank you. I’ll try memtest which haven’t thought of in 20 years. I had thought that it may be a memory issue except why would LO then run in Safe Mode? It’s also unlikely that two brand new ramsets on two different motherboards would both be faulty. This was my first thought. It also has no problem streaming videos.

In Windows 10/11 alien antivirus software could be a bad friend.

Unsure if Hrbrgr is a response to my problem? As an update I have run Memtest with no problems on 4 completed passes. I have no ‘alien’ antivirus software installed.

Again as per original I am running the same V. 7.3.6.2 on all three HP laptops, with the same Win 10 build and only have this problem on one. I have clean reinstalled WIndows and LO and I have replaced the motherboard and renamed user profile.

Again just tried running LO and it immediately froze and crashed. The problem seems to occur on scrolling with touchpad, wired or wireless mouse. Any further ideas will be most appreciated.

Have you updated the drivers?

When you say you disabled Skia, was that in Tools > Options > LibreOffice > View? or was that from Safe Mode? Safe Mode setting disables it only for the next boot which is enough for you to disable it permanently in Options.

Following the links @Hrbrgr gave, did you find any corrupted or old fonts?
