LO update to 26.2 will not start BASE

Hi Everyone

After update from LO version 25…? to 26.2 - Whats working… Calc seems ok, Write seems ok, but Base will not Start once selected icon - so no popup for starting - nothing no visible on screen. I also notice it is greyed out in the Menu selection for File type to open or launch. Could it be as simple as - Its not updated at all?
Not an office urgency but home file. Please ask anything for me to check or if you have an idea that could fix this.
I have tried to find in the ASK lib but seems anything remotely to do with the last update - suggestion is to “Roll back” for a while until LO has “done some miles on the clock…” to shake out some quirks… :slight_smile:

I’m a little novice on terminal and some terms.

No, there are no separate apps.
.
My guess is you are on Linux? In some distributions Base-component is left out and has to be installed separately.
Combined with Snap, Flatpack, Appimage an update may remove Base again.

OS, versions, distribution for Linux and
how/when did this happen:

  • Automatic updates by LO
  • You downloading and installing a newer version
  • Automatic updates on your OS
  • Distribution updates (like newer version of Ubuntu installed)

OS Software – Linux Mint 22.3 - Cinnamon 64-bit

Kernal 6.8.0-136-generic

Desktop Environment - Cinnamon 6.6.9

Ive checked again and can’t open my main Database for home Garden use :wink:
Is shows in grey Top Middle - looking for Libraoffice 24.2 although in properties is set to open with current version of LO 26.2 - Middle of screen is the “General Input output error” mssg

If icon for opening/creating a connection to Database is greyed out you haven’t installed the Base packages of your distribution.
If it isn’t greyed out: Which kind of database do you use? Internal HSQLDB?

A default installation of Mint 22.3 does not include the Base component of LibreOffice. You can install it via the software manager - just search libreoffice-base in software manager and install the package with that exact name.
