Mac cannot find JDK

I have installed libreoffice and installed the required java JDK on Mac OS. I have went to preferences-advanced and tried to browse to find the jre file but it is not in the jdk library folder. I have reinstalled both Libre and jdk but it still can’t find the jdk file. What am I doing wrong?

How to install Java (JRE/JDK) so that LibreOffice could use it?

So the oracle java refused to work. I used the third party Amazon Corretto 17 and it worked like a charm. Who knew.

It appears you tried all the logical things already.

Maybe try the flowing posted on what was done to fix something similar.

Let’s learn together.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately it didn’t help. When I try to connect oracle through the preferences menu there is no option to click on. All the files are greyed out in the jdk-19.jdk folder.

When you click on the link it takes you to the quoted text there are two links one to the intel version and the other to the apple silicon version when you click on the appropriate link it downloads the jdk-19.dmg file to your downloads folder.
