I am using the latest version of writer and still struggling with the complexity of mail merge.
My calc data source has a mixture of addresses. Some have 4 lines and some have 6 lines.
This is normal and the 6 line addresses work fine.
The problem is that even though the ‘supress blank lines’ box is ticked, blank lines are not supressed in the 4 line addresses and I am getting blank lines.
How can I rectify this without resorting to highly technical feats.

Hasn’t someone told you in the past that you should ignore the Mail Merge Wizard and the address block within it?
Instead, drag the mail merge fields into a frame that you’ve positioned in the document.
Then start printing by pressing Ctrl+P
