Can somebody tell me, why serial correspondence is so awful?

I created serial correspondence and add only two peoples. Everything works great. But when I tried to add one more, universum explodes… I can edit, but add new button is grayed. I tried libreoffice base, the same. I tried create special form. The same. When I use serial correspondence creator - i can add but it doesn’t refresh - still has only two people. And can’t create new! When I create new source it still connect to the old one. When I desperately delete file with these two person - libreoffice writer hungs and only hard reset helped…

I have to restore from trash this file… Finaly after hard battle I add one more person (but restart was needed) but when i think to add fourth person i better copy document and edit it manually.

WHY IT IS SO USER UNFRIENDLY?

Serial correspondence ??? What do you mean? Is it an add-on extension? Please explain the purpose, the procedure and the deviation from expected results. Remember we are users like you and have no universal knowledge of all possible uses of any application, be it Writer.

I assume your serial communication is what some people name “mail merge”.

From your posting I have no clue, what you actually tried, what kind of documentation you read/used and at what stage one could interfere.
So I can only guess you used the/some assistant, wich are often not recommend for changing a existing setup. But as I have to guess your intentions any assistant may have false guesses on you…

Usually I set this things up directly from a writer-document and a registered datasource like Calc-Table (or database). By changing the contents of the table I’m handling around 700 addresses without problem.

Ok, in english it is mail merge and it is standard function

I just use wizard…
tools/mail merge wizard (i suppose)
and following the wizard.
