Mendeley for Windows LibreOffice 7.5.5.2

Hello all -

I am a new LibreOffice user and I was hoping to get some help pairing my Mendeley Reference Manager with LibreOffice. All of the previously asked questions from before utilize Mendeley Desktop and their previous LibreOffice plugin, however Mendeley has since moved to their new Mendeley Reference Manager application and they support Mendeley Cite, which does not have an OpenOffice plugin.

As a result, I went back and downgraded to their previous versions that still have the OpenOffice plugin, but I think there is an issue with compatibility as I keep receiving error messages when inserting citations. Although the citation and bibliography are inserted and updated, I keep receivng these popup error messages.

Error: Argument is not optional. Additional information:
Type: com.sun.star.beans.UnknownPropertyException
Message: Mendeley Citation Style_2
At line: 1058

Error: Argument is not optional.

Looking at previous issues on here, there are not any helpful answers, so I would like to ask again to see if there is any additional help or advice not previously mentioned. Otherwise, is there a reference manager that connects seemlessly with LibreOffice products that could be recommended?

To answer this question, we need more information on the kind of reference you manage. Do you need a basic function where you only take care of author, book title, year, … or do you want to also keep track of full text quotation and other higher level tasks?

For basics, built-in bibliography is an easy start. But if your references are to be shared across various applications and be subject to other manipulations, this goes beyond the built-in feature.

I have a similar issue with Mendeley, I’m using libre office writer v7.3.7.2 and I can’t insert a citation because the program gets close…, I’ve heard that is a compatibility problem between libre office v7.x and Mendeley???
