ALL menu bar words - and some others - have been replaced by DOTS, one per missing letter. I uninstalled that and went back to the previous version.
I am using Windows 7 on a Toshiba laptop of some age.
Which version do you have tried to install? Please have a look at https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107764#c34 and try that. Please report, whether it helps.
