Obviously, you didn’t mention OS name, LO version and save format.
Three words, even repeated, are not sufficient to understand your problem and suggest a solution.
My adresses are in an xlsx- table. How can I use them?

I think you can open the xlsx, save as ods and then use that ods as source of data

Merge operations need a database as source. You need to make a “LibreOffice Base document”, which is a database definition file of sorts, and link that to your spreadsheet file.
Microsoft applications manage spreadsheets as databases on the fly, but LibreOffice requires you to explicitly create the Base file, which defines the spreadsheet as a data source. - OOXML-formatted (xlsx-)files can be used directly by the Base component of LibreOffice. No need to save as ods.
