Did ou update your system? Did you change your login identity?
What OS / Version?
Is the system part of an administrated surrounding? For what reason did you tag the question “passwords”?
Did you already try to use a different (from default) location with a ‘Save’ action?
Your issue is surely a matter of rights with respect to your file system.
