Modifying keyboard shortcuts greyed out

Using Libreoffice 6.3. Results from Calc.

I have tried modifying the keyboard shortcuts, specifically under tools>customize>keyboard under the “edit” category, but for each the “modify” button is greyed out:

  • “Paste text”. It’s “keys” category is blank.
  • “Paste unformatted text”. It’s “keys” category shows “ctrl-alt-shift-v”.
  • “Paste special”. It’s “keys” category shows “ctrl-shift-v”.

I remember being able to modify these keyboard shortcuts back when I had a 5.x version, after which I did a fresh uninstall and install of the 6.3 version, but they seemed to be locked in reset defaults.

Have you selected anything under Category and Function to Modify the shortcut to?

Did you read the warning in Help: Avoid assigning shortcut keys that are currently used by your operating system.

Select the target Shortcut Key to enable the Modify button.

Thank you, that was it. My simple mistake. The target shortcut key defaults to F1 which I am assuming is used by the operating system as it greys out the modify button as you said.
