Music in impress shuts off after 1st slide!

All I wanted to do was take my old PPT file and convert it to impress since I deleted MS Office. Here I am 5 hours later, and I am no farther than I was.

I added the media files correctly, I linked the files, they previewed fine. They worked in media player. They are mp3’s. They are not named anything weird. And yet the slide show starts and flashes the first slide then the music stops. The image flashes, the music stops and the show keeps going.

160 or so slides, 5 songs, all worked since 2009 when I made the show in powerpoint, but I deleted MS office so I can’t go back.

I have been all over the web. I don’t do social media. I have no SM accounts. I don’t use google, I don’t use reddit. I am resenting the fact that I had to create this account just to be able to ask a stupid question or leave feedback!!!

This entire process of creating this account is frustrating and irritating and I HATE IT!!!

All I wanted to do was convert a file. I tried changing music. No luck. Tried saving in different formats. No dice. Tried rebooting, updating, reinstalling - nada!!!

I am so angry I can’t see straight. My back is killing me, I am so ready to break something. This is a simple thing and the internet “helpers” all give the same overused advice and don’t have anything new to say or a fix that works.

All I wanted to do was get rid of Microsoft. That’s all. Just wanted to update a slide show to use it tomorrow to give a presentation so I could try to teach a local class to show I knew what I was talking about and I can’t even do that.

There is no way this shouldn’t work. I followed all the steps. I nearly had it working in Open Office too but their crap won’t take an mp3 file for whatever reason. So back to this suite.

In fact, I am so over the process I don’t even care if this gets deleted and I never get an answer. I may even delete this account since I never wanted it in the first place. Thanks for making everything harder and more frustrating than it had to be.

Maybe this question helps, How to play audio across Impress slides
.
The Impress Guide can be a useful reference tool, download from LibreOffice Bookshelf

?? That is complete nonsense.
If you had a licence you could reinstall.
If you canceled your contract I’m sure MS will accept you back (for the usual fee).
.
On your actual problem there is not much we can offer, as there is not much available details to check.
.
Good luck.

let me put it this way - I REFUSE to reinstall office.
I deleted it for a reason.
I don’t want to deal with MS anymore than I have to. If I hadn’t been using windows since version 3.1 I would get rid of that too.
